Behind El Sol
I’m Elise, the sun-drenched artist behind El Sol. My work is rooted in memories and mischief — daydreams turned into pieces that feel like summer. Most days you’ll find me barefoot in my studio with paint on my hands, salt in my clothes, and my border collie, Sunday, close by. If I’m not there, I’m somewhere near a body of water with my people.
Growing up with a deep love for the ocean shaped how I see the world. It’s where I feel most like myself, and that feeling naturally finds its way into my art. I live for the in-between moments — the salt dried on your skin after a long swim, sun-drenched days that melt into golden hours, and the kind of good company that fills your cup.
My paintings reflect life by the sea. They’re colourful yet soft, carrying a quiet nostalgia. I’m drawn to the little rituals and salt-stained accessories of our days — the small things that somehow become the memories we keep. Each piece is a love letter to these moments: long swims, sun on your skin, and the magic of finding where you’re meant to land.
Every painting is a small memoir of the things we collect along the way. A reminder to slow down and linger in the golden hours. I believe every memory deserves to be captured—but I also love the idea of things being aesthetic for no deep reason at all.
I’m just here for the endless summer, the stories whispered to the stars, and anything that feels a little like magic.
Nice to meet you x
